About the Saudi Arabia visa

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offers many types of visas, which differ in terms of validity, purpose of stay, and the permitted length of stay. Saudi Arabia visas for tourism purposes have been available online since 2019, when the KSA government introduced the electronic visa system.

Travelers eligible for Saudi Arabia eVisa can apply for a multiple-entry visa granted for tourism-related purposes. The visa allows for a total stay of up to 90 days throughout its 365-day validity period.

Applicants wishing to obtain a Saudi visa online should submit the online application at least 3 business days prior to the date of planned travel.

Saudi Arabia tourist visa eliminates the need to book embassy or consulate appointments. Once approved, Saudi eVisa can be used to enter the KSA for leisure and tourism purposes, including pilgrimage to Mecca (Umrah).

Important: Performing Umrah under the approved Saudi online visa is possible only out of the Hajj season. Participating in Hajj requires obtaining a special visa directly at the Ministry of Hajj.

Saudi Arabia eVisa application process

To apply for a Saudi Arabia eVisa, you only need to go through three very intuitive and straightforward application steps. Click the ‘Apply Online’ button and follow these steps:

  1. Fill out the online form: enter all the required information, such as personal details, travel information, passport data, and email address; upload a copy of your passport and your face photo.
  2. Pay the processing fee: choose one of the available methods of online payment and cover the service fee.
  3. Receive the approved Saudi eVisa: shortly after covering the payment, make sure to refresh your email inbox and receive all the application updates and, finally, the issued Saudi visa.

Once the KSA authorities approve your visa application, your visa will become automatically linked to your passport, while a PDF confirmation will be sent to your email address. You should print it out and take a copy of your visa for a trip to Saudi Arabia.

Enjazit visa registration

Enjazit.com.sa used to be a Saudi Arabia platform dedicated to online registration for different visa types. The Enjazit platform no longer exists but has been replaced with the updated MOFA website.

In the past, applicants for Enjaz had to complete the Enjazit registration, which was then sent to the KSA embassy specified in the invitation letter.

Completing the Enjazit registration was available either online or via an authorized company cooperating with the Saudi embassy on a daily basis.

The Enjaz system, however, wasn’t helpful for tourists as they couldn’t apply for a tourist visa via the Enjazit platform. Currently, the visa services can be handled on the official MOFA website as the Enjazit platform has been shut down.

Types of visas that can be applied via the Saudi Arabia MOFA platform

The following visa types can be applied via the MOFA website:

  • Business Visit Visa
  • Employment Visa
  • Personal Visit Visa:
  • Government Visit Visa
  • Diplomatic Missions and Organizations
  • Residence Visa
  • Newborn Visa
  • Extension of Exit/Re-entry Visa
  • Family Visit Visa
  • Companion Visa
  • Student Visa

Note: Applications for all visa types listed above must be submitted via the visa office authorized by the KSA embassy and registered with MOFA.

Saudi Arabia MOFA visa statuses

Depending on the stage of your application and the final decision of the KSA authorities, you may see different statuses. It is essential to understand them when making a MOFA visa check (previously Enjazit visa check) to know what can be done when you have received a visa denial.

When checking your Saudi Arabia visa status, you may see the following ones:

  • Pending: the status meaning that the KSA immigration authorities have made no final decision
  • Approved: the status meaning that your visa has been granted, and you will be able to travel to the KSA for the purposes covered by the particular visa you hold and stay there for a period specified in the visa approval
  • Rejected: the status meaning that there were specific reasons that prevented the KSA authorities from issuing your visa; the most common rejection reasons are incomplete documentation, incorrect details of the applicant, not meeting all the eligibility criteria, etc.
  • Issued: the status meaning that your visa has been granted, but you still need to visit the relevant Saudi embassy or consulate and collect it
  • Expired: the validity period of your visa has ended, and you failed to visit Saudi Arabia within this period; a new visa application must be submitted to enter the KSA hassle-free

Saudi Arabia visa rejection status

You may receive a visa rejection when making your Saudi Arabia visa check. Fortunately, there are some ways that you can try to make your application successful, including:

  • Reviewing the reason for your visa rejection: receiving the visa rejection reason is a matter of luck as the KSA government is not always willing to reveal it
  • Seeking for clarification: in case you didn’t receive the reason for your visa denial, you can try contacting the Saudi embassy and ask for clarification
  • Reapplying for a visa: if your visa has been denied, you can always try to reapply; before you decide to submit a new application, make sure to find out the potential reasons for the denial of your first visa application
